St Cuthbert's is a Church of England school that values standards and achievement.
We are extremely proud of all that goes on here.
As our website demonstrates, the children at St Cuthbert's are supported in their learning by dedicated staff, governors and parents who work together to ensure the happiness and wellbeing of our children as they learn and develop their full potential.
It is our aim to:
- Create a secure environment that is both stable and caring, where everyone learns respect, understanding and tolerance.
- Give each child independence, confidence and a sense of responsibility.
- Nurture and maintain high standards in everything we do.
- Provide a well-balanced curriculum that is exciting and relevant.
- Nurture the relationships between all members of our school and our local community.

Christian Ethos & Culture St Cuthbert's is a friendly & caring school with a Christian ethos that permeates the whole life of the school. We are closely involved in many aspects of the Parish: Father Douglas or Father Lee visits us weekly to lead our morning worship. We celebrate some festival services in church – a short walk from school. St Cuthbert's Parish Curch
Y6 ‘Archaeology Dig' Our Curriculum We provide a broad and balanced curriculum that is relevant and exciting. The topics that are taught are often brought to life by providing the children with first-hand experience by either taking them on a visit or inviting someone into school to talk to them The Parish Amateur Dramatic Society produces a pantomime each year, giving many of our children – and adults – the opportunity to experience being involved in a large production. The seven performances take place in early November. We hold Summer & Christmas fairs with stalls and sideshows run by staff, pupils, the P.T.F.A. and Parish organisations. P.T.F.A. We have a very active Parents, Teachers and Friends Association who raise over £2,000 per year for us, as well as organising social events for children and parents alike.
Money raised by the P.T.F.A. has been used to help purchase the interactive whiteboards we have in every classroom, sets of class novels for Years 2-6 and much more.
