16 Feb 2008 - Booking Holidays

Booking your holidays?

Following recent Government advice, I must inform you that family holidays taken in term time may result in a £100 fine.  Please find this year’s holiday list in 'Holiday & Term Dates' (or click here), and on page 3 of the September print newsletter for your reference; keep it in a safe place.

If you are faced with absolutely no option other than to remove your child from school, then you must request permission, giving good reason, on the appropriate form (obtainable from the school office) BEFORE the absence.  I will then consider your request and let you know my decision.

As from September 2007, we are only allowed to authorise 10 days
holiday during any Key Stage, i.e. 10 days during the infant period of Years 1 & 2 and 10 days during the junior period of Years 3—6.

Any holidays that exceed this will trigger further action and may result in a fine of up to £100.

Please note that exam week begins Monday, 12th May.  We ask that no junior children are taken out of school during this week. It is a very important week for them—especially Year 6.
